How to hate yourself

How to Hate Yourself is a show based on a simple premise…We all have a fearful voice in our head telling us we’re not good enough. We spend money on therapy, self-help books, sound baths, crystal altars and boxes of wine to get rid of that voice. But it always come back. Why? Because that voice is right! It all started with this article on VICE.

How to Hate Yourself at the Hollywood Fringe Festival

How to Hate Yourself then became a satirical solo show I performed at the Hollywood Fringe Fest where I played a highly successful moti-hational speaker who trained people how to hate themselves more deeply, and more powerfully than they ever dared dream. Here are some vids from the show:

H2HY Fringe Festival Reviews

...And Thank God I caught Laura House’s How To Hate Yourself on the last day of Fringe - a riotous laughfest and a complete joy. I learned I don’t hate myself and I love Laura House even more!
— huffington post

Laura House is a rare bird. She commands the stage like the incredibly talented comic that she is, but then she lets the audience in, telling very vulnerable, relatable, meaningful stories – laced with laughs, of course, so it’s a great ride. But you come away having felt something, learned something. I was moved. How wonderful and rare to come away from seeing a stand up’s show, feeling moved by it. Good stuff!
— Beth Littleford (Daily Show, Dog with a Blog)

I loved the show. I thought Laura House was wonderful, I thought Craig Anton’s direction was terrific. I was so impressed with the way they were able to balance the laughter and the pathos. No easy task. Plus, I left there not hating myself as much. It’s okay, though. I don’t want my money back! Thank you!

How to Hate Yourself at the Improv

How to Hate Yourself grew into a popular show at the Hollywood Improv Lab. I convinced incredible comics like Laura Kightlinger, Dana Gould, Maggie Maye, Debra DiGiovanni, Jackie Kashian, Laurie Kilmartin and Greg Behrendt to talk about how they hate themselves. It was amazing!
