I get it. I have the perfect dog. But I didn't expect people to stop us on the street and ask if their dog could make love with her. But that's what happened today.
I was having a lovely family morning, the three of us walked to the coffee shop. My cute guy with bedhead, & my adorable pup, fix'n with an iced red eye. Nice Sunday.
We stopped at the intersection about a block from our house and made Minnie sit --safety first. A guy in a gray RAv4 stopped at the stop sign, then didn't go. Looked at us, and Minnie, "That's a good looking dog."
"Thanks!" I yelled back. I'm very proud of this creature I didn't personally produce.
"She a bully mix?"
"Yeah, part Bull Mastiff." I'm pretty sure this is true. Bulldog mixed with Bull Mastiff/Boxer/Pit.
"She fixed?" asked the stranger in the car blocking our way.
Uh. It seemed a little personal, but I'm a fairly new dog owner - maybe this is just how people talk. "Yeah."
"Too bad. I got a full brindle bulldog. I'm not a breeder, but I want puppies," he said.
"Yeah, she'd make great puppies. Sorry." So now I'm agreeing that my dog is super sexy, and apologizing that she can't get knocked up.
We wished each other a good day and he drove on.
I gotta say, for a guy wanting my dog turnt out, he was pretty nice about it.
When you look like this, I guess you just have to get used to that sort of attention.
